Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), also called vinyl, is the world’s 3rd most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer (after polyethylene and polypropylene). PVC is a versatile material that offers many possible applications in the building and construction, health care, electronics and automobile sectors.

As for the healthcare industry, vinyl plays a critical safety role in dispensing life-saving medicine through IV bags and medical tubing. Since PVC is flexible and unbreakable material, it is widely used in blood-collection bags production. It is the only material approved by the European Pharmacopoeia for blood storage.
